The winter in the Dolomites is also synonymous of Christmas markets. From the end of November to January, the squares of the principal towns in South Tyrol, Trentino and Bellunese, will fill up with perfumes, lights, sounds and Christmas traditions. The wood houses propose wood artifacts, glass, ceramics, felt and unique and precious objects to give as a souvenir of a wonderful holiday in the Dolomites.
In addition to the original, historic and well-known Christmas markets of South Tyrol like Bolzano, Merano, Bressanone, Brunico and Vipiteno, other interesting Christmas markets take palce in Trentino and Bellunese: Trento, Riva del Garda and Cortina d’Ampezzo. In the five towns of South Tyrol, the Christmas tradition invades porticos and squares.
The ancient mercantile hamlet of Bolzano, surrounded by Dolomites, perfumes of cinnamon, mulled wine and delicious strudels. In Merano, the relaxed and typical atmosphere of Christmas blends with the wellness of the Spas, while Bressanone fascinates for its historic nativity scene. Near the snow and Plan de Corones, Brunico fascinates for its lights, its biscuits and the Zelten. Finally, there is the medieval and mining Vipiteno with its elegant Tower of Twelve.
Do not miss the Christmas markets of many towns and luxury zones of Dolomites that take place in particular locations, such as silent vallys, ancient castles, medieval walls or in the banks of characteristic lakes, like those of Arco and Levico Terme in Trentino or near Carezza lake, Val Gardena, Val Sarentino, Corvara or the beautiful town of Chiusa in South Tyrol. Visit all after a good skiing among the most beautiful slopes of Dolomites.
