Luxury holidays in Val Pusteria and Plan de Corones
The Val Pusteria stretches for 100 km from Rio di Pusteria to Lienz, towards the border between South Tyrol and Austria. The valley comprises some of the more fascinating tourist resorts in the Dolomites: Sesto, San Candido, Dobbiaco, Plan de Corones, Brunico, with luxury hotels, surrounded by beautiful mountains, like the Three Peaks of Lavaredo and the Sesto Dolomites Unesco World Heritage, immersed in a nature protected by three nature parks.
The valley is divided in Bassa Pusteria, Plan de Corones and holiday region Three peaks/3 Zinnen in the Dolomites. Valley of active sports par excellence, Val Pusteria offers in winter 107 km of perfectly groomed slopes, a fully-equipped snowboard park and 31 ski lifts on Plan de Corones, and countless cross-country skiing trails in the beautiful and silent secondary valleys of Anterselva and Casies. Here you can practice of course many other sports: winter trekking, snowshoeing and ski mountaineering; or go for a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride.
In summer Val Pusteria is the perfect place for practicing outdoor sports with departure of the itineraries in front of the 4 and 5 star hotels: trekking and mountain biking, but also horseback riding, tennis, paragliding, squash in the Baranci leisure center of San Candido, archery at the Brunico castle and golf in the course of Riscone. Here you find also a well-equipped fitness center and the swimming center Cron4, with large sauna area.
The beautiful Via Centrale of Brunico and the pedestrian zone of San Candido are perfect for some shopping in the trendy boutiques and for a taste of the local gourmet cuisine in the restaurants and wine bars. And the cultural visits to the two Messner Museums, one in the Brunico Castle and the other in the peak of Plan de Corones.
