Luxury holidays in Val Venosta
Val Venosta is the westernmost valley of South Tyrol, stretching from the Resia Pass to Merano. It is the Apple Valley where you will find a lot of sun, snowy landscapes in winter and lush pastures in summer: all you need for a holiday full of sport and relaxation in the luxury hotels of the area. A charme destination with wide valleys, medieval villages and castles, higher than 3000 meters peaks, culinary art of ancient tradition and quality products like apricots, asparagus and obviously apples.
A natural idyllic ambience with 4 and 5 star hotels, where luxury, delicious gastronomic specialties and wellness centers offer a dream experience.
The valley features also many cultural and architectural treasures, like the bell tower of the Resia Lake, the medieval hamlet of Glorenza, and Juval Castle, a museum Reinhold Messner dedicated to myths of the mountains, with paintings of sacred peaks from all over the world and a collection of Tibetan masks and objects. Messner chose Val Venosta as site of two other museums: Ortles, dedicated to the ice world and located in Solda, at an altitude of 1900 meters; and Firmian Castle, dedicated to the connection between men and mountains.
Coira Castle hosts the biggest armor collection in Europe and the Medieval Reenactment, three days of exciting tournaments paying homage to the glorious days of Middle Age.
Val Venosta invites you to practice correct fitness activities to improve your health and wellbeing. In the Nature Fitness Park you can try Nordic Walking, a relatively new and easy discipline having many beneficial effects; or you can test the Kneipp therapy in the well-equipped center of Naturno, Acquavventura, or in the outdoor facilities surrounded by the beautiful mountain landscape or in the wellness centers of luxury hotels.
Of course, you can practice also more traditional sports: in the ski domain Ortler Skiarena, including no less than 15 different ski resorts, you can practice all the winter sports you like, from downhill to cross-country skiing, from snowboarding to snowshoeing, from biathlon to snowkiting, from sledding to ice skating, from winter walks to romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides. In summer you have the chance to discover the wonderful surroundings practicing trekking, mountain biking, horseback riding, or even better paragliding, to watch the land from above savoring the quietness and clean air of the valley.
